Lots has gone on in the past week! It was the 6th annual Fish ID week, and we had lots of fun! Scott and Patti Chandler who are experts on fish ID come to Bonaire and host the week long event. Every day they posted three "wanted" fish that people had to find ranging in difficulty from easy to very hard. Everyone had to find at least one of those fish to qualify for the nights prize. Each night someone got a free t-shirt commemorating the event. On the second night, I won the t-shirt, and on the third my dad did! It wasn't all about competition though, everyone worked together to find as many fish as possible and mark them off of the list of all fish sighted in Bonaire on the last night the fish marked off were counted and the number was over 100! It was a great way to get everyone to work together. On same night, the biggest prizes were given to the people that found the most of the "wanted" fishes. My dad got the first place prize; the version of the fish ID book for computers. It has multiple videos and pictures of all of the fish and will be great for improving our ID skills! We had so much fun and really enjoyed this week! Hopefully we can do it next year too!
